'COVID-19' Guidance/Policy

Dear Guests, welcome to Maen Hir.

In order to comply with the government’s ‘COVID -19’ Guidance, we have developed an 8 Point Plan as outlined below.

Please note that this may be subject to change in accordance with future Government Directives.

1. General Protective Measures

1.1 Any guests who believe they have symptoms of the COVID-19 virus prior to arrival at Maen Hir should contact us with a view to cancelling or amending their reservation and follow the Government COVID-19 Guidance.

1.2 If a guest develops signs of the ‘Covid-19’ virus whilst at Maen Hir, he/she must inform us immediately and we will inform the guest that he/she should self-isolate in their room in order to minimise any risk of transmission whilst they make preparations to return to their home and a test should be requested at their local ‘test centre’.

1.3 If a guest cannot reasonably and safely return home, their circumstances should be discussed with an appropriate health care professional and with the local authority.

1.4 We will immediately advise all current guests of the occurrence and inform those people who have impending bookings at Maen Hir.

1.5 Any guests who believe they have developed symptoms of the COVID-19 Virus following their stay at Maen Hir should inform us immediately.

1.6 Further to 1.5 above, we will immediately advise remaining/future guests and follow Government COVID-19 Guidance.

2. Maen Hir Check-in/ Check-out Procedure

2.1 Our normal check-in time is from 3.00pm to 10.00 pm, with later arrival times by agreement only. Please note that early check-in times are not possible.

2.2 On arrival, a notice will be displayed at the front entrance to the property requesting that guests ring the door bell for attention.

2.3 New arrivals are requested to follow social distancing guidelines.

2.4 We will meet guests at the front door and ask that they sanitise their hands as soon as they enter the property.

2.5 To ensure check-out is timely and observes social distancing rules, payment will be taken prior to check-in.

3. Social Distancing

3.1 Shared access spaces are narrow and we ask guests to check that thoroughfares are clear to avoid contact as much as is reasonably practicable.

3.2 Please be aware of the current social distancing rules in place at the time of your stay.

4. Breakfast

4.1 To maintain social distancing rules, we have modified our breakfast room and breakfast times to limit the maximum occupancy.

4.2 We will be as flexible and as fair as possible. Guests will be asked to choose their preferred time slot. Please note times are on a first come, first serve basis.

4.3 A member of staff will be at hand to show you to your allocated table.

4.4 A hand sanitiser station is located at the entrance to the dining room.

5. General Hygiene

5.1 An anti-bacterial hand sanitiser is located just inside the main entrance and in the hall outside the breakfast room.

5.2 Common areas and surfaces such as door handles and stair rails will be sanitised on a regular basis using appropriate disinfection/anti-bacterial cleaning products.

6. Room Cleaning

6.1 We continue to maintain our high standards of hygiene in bedrooms and en-suite facilities using appropriate anti-bacterial cleaning products.

6.2 All bedding and towels are professionally laundered to a high commercial standard.

6.3 All Shower gels, shampoo and anti-bacterial hand wash bottles are replaced for each new guest arrival.

6.4 Soft furnishings such as cushions and throws will be minimised and shall be replaced prior to each new arrival.

6.5 Following guest departures, all rooms will be thoroughly ventilated and sanitised using appropriate sanitising products.

6.6 Following departure all hospitality trays are sanitised and all contents are replaced.

7. Room Service

7.1 Room service is now limited to refreshing hospitality trays and emptying of bins.

7.2 We provide a plastic bag for towels and request that all used towels are placed in the bag and left in the shower at the end of your stay. If you require towel changes mid stay, please follow the same procedure.

8. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

8.1 We do not provide PPE for guests and encourage all guests to bring their own supply. If required we will provide basic PPE.

8.2 Staff will wear PPE at times and we hope this is not detrimental to the service we offer.

8.3 COVID 19 specific health and safety signage will be visible throughout the property to reinforce the guidelines.

We hope that your stay will be comfortable and enjoyable and that the above measures will not prove to be restrictive and intrusive.

We would welcome any feedback or ideas that you may have with regards to this policy.

Kind Regards, Eirian and Steve
